Meet our Staff

Our Principal

Mrs Z. Koekemoer

Meet Principal Zelda Koekemoer. A learned lady with impeccable standards. After obtaining her B. Com Marketing degree (University of Pretoria) in 1995 and Higher Education Diploma in 1996, she started from the bottom - learning, growing, and adapting. After teaching High School Business Economics and Accounting, she decided to join the corporate world where she started as a Support Consultant and quickly developed into the role of Training Manager for a huge HR software company. Her 10-year stint with this HR software company imparted in her some of her very best skills which are so valuable for her current role, among them, business skills, understanding of policies and systems, mentoring skills, people skills and of course teaching/training skills. Being business minded, she identified an opportunity to open a preprimary school in Hilton, KZN and grabbed it. She then qualified as a pre-school educator. After more than 10 years of running her school, she handed the management reigns to a staff member, who was groomed over many years, as she took up the challenge to head the Primary and Pre-Primary division of Acacia Schools. Ms Zelda excelled in this position before she was promoted to principal of the whole school.
Zelda is passionate about good quality education, diligence and excellence in its delivery. She is equally passionate about her Christian Faith and good moral values. Her maternal instincts are ever evident in her interactions, in which the themes of finding purpose in life and being useful to society, are ever present in her teaching, which is introduced at an early stage in life. Her outlook is that Acacia should produce children of significance who love learning and serve God and others with compassion, love, and respect.

Let us introduce you to our Departments:

Ms Elmarie Verster

Elmarie is always up for a challenge and never shys away from adventures as she explores new places. She spent many years in Durban where she taught Drama, Afrikaans and headed up the Geography Department. She even spent time occupying a position as a Boarder mistress. After obtaining a Drama Licentiate, she moved to the UK, and headed up the Drama division at Ashford High School. Between Drama and Creative Performing Arts, she excelled by reaching international teaching status in 2008. One of her significant achievements is being awarded a Bronze medal with distinction, in the world renowned London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).
Despite her many prestigious achievements, Elmarie longed to be back on home ground so she packed her bags and returned to SA where she worked as the Head of Drama at Cordwalles Preparatory School, Treverton College (Head of Drama) and now, at Acacia Private School as HOD of High School. She exudes passion and is a breath of fresh air as she adds her creative touch and artistic flair to everything she sets her mind to.

Our soccer team has not only hosted but competed with many schools in the district.
To manage such a wide portfolio of diverse sporting disciplines requires exceptional organisational and people skills. Tamsyn’s Events Management qualification shows its worth in the way she flawlessly executes these diverse sports events. She handles the many stakeholders in the sporting arena, with distinction.
“I stand firm in my approach to push my learners to challenge themselves to achieve more than they think they can. I believe in their potential and envision them making a success of their lives.
